SUCCESS

This event will be a multi-faceted film festival in Rochester, MN with thought-provoking speakers and interactive discussion interspersed with the showing of films.

Visions of Success began as a Girl Scout Gold Award Project aimed at redefining the meaning of success: from back-breaking class loads in pursuit of a perfect grade to ruthless attacks in the office searching for the next big promotion, American ideals of 'success' never seem to falter. From being told that you must pursue one career as a child to being forced out of a dream degree in favor of a more 'successful' one, society has many ideas about what is-and isn't- success.

But who does this affect our mental and physical health? Is it really in our best interest to be chasing someone else's idea of what a successful life looks like instead of listening to our own feelings?

These- and many more- are the thoughts we hope to provoke at the 2021 Visions of Success Film Festival in Rochester, MN. What does success look like to you? Is it solely professional? Based on a relationship? Does it have to do with your happiness? Is contentment the ultimate goal?

We will be showing films from around the world that showcase successes- both big and small- in an effort to redefine success in order to empower each participant to develop healthy and deeply personal goals.
